Seussical
$4 per student. Recommended for Kindergarten - High School Senior. Available 9/30/2008 - 12/18/2008.
Music by Stephen Flaherty
Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens
Book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty
Based on the works of Dr. Seuss
"After all these years being stuck on
a page, did you ever imagine you'd
see me onstage? Now I'm here,
there is no telling what may ensue!
No, there is no telling, but I'll give you
a clue..." So says the mischievous
Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical,
magical, musical extravaganza!
All of Dr. Seuss' characters
are lovingly brought to life, including
Horton the Elephant, Gertrude Mc-
Fuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all the Whos
of Whoville. These classic, colorful
tales are seamlessly brought together
by JoJo, a young boy and
"thinker of strange and wonderful
thinks!" As each story unfolds you will
marvel at how relevant and profound
Seuss' subtle themes are, making
this musical one that appeals to all
ages. So let your toes tap, your fingers
snap and your imagination run
wild. "Oh, the thinks you can think!"
Nashville Ballet presents Carnival of the Animals
$4 per student. Recommended for 4 years - Fourth Grade. Available 11/7/2008 - 11/7/2008.
Choreography by Paul Vasterling
Costume Design by Aubrey Hyde
Original Narrative by Brian Hull
Musical Score: Two piano arrangement of Camille Saint Saens' original composition
Arrangement by Bob Mahler
Appropriate for Pre-Kindergarten-4th Grade
Approximate running time: 60 minutes
In Carnival of the Animals, the Lion,
King of Beasts, cannot understand
why everyone isn't exactly like him. If
he's the King, he must be the best,
so of course all the other animals
should change. A wise and patient
Bird teaches the arrogant Lion to appreciate
the beauty in each animal's
unique qualities. Follow the Lion as
he journeys through this wild jungle
full of whimsical characters. It's a joyous
celebration when the Lion learns
that we are basically all the same on
the inside, but it's our differences that
make life interesting.
